KNOW THIS:

1. It can take a long time before your blog makes money (like 1 to 3 years). 
2. Traffic builds over time.
3. People will start linking to your site.
4. You'll eventually start to rank.
5. Once you're getting 10k visitors/mo (for a narrow niche) or 100k visitors/mo (for a broad niche) you'll start seeing some steady income.

DO THIS:

1. Use blog content to get people to your site.
2. Once they're there, send them to pages that have shit you're selling.
3. Get crafty: use quizzes, popup boxes, content upgrades, referral incentives, etc. to increase traffic and engagement.
4. Make the entire experience on your blog easy and beneficial; they'll come back.
