Finding Sponsors for Your Newsletter

KNOW THIS:

  1. If you’re regularly shipping a newsletter and you’d like to actually make a business out of it, sponsorships aka ads are a fantastic monetization option.

  2. Some online biz gurus will tell you to wait until you have 10k subs to find sponsors for your NL’s ad spots and others say you only need 1k. I think it depends on your niche (ex: B2B pays sooner) and how engaged your readers are.

  3. If you’re writing ads, they need to be interesting / enjoyable to read.

  4. Organic content ads perform better than display ads.

  5. You can charge somewhere around $50 per 1,000 email opens for an ad.

DO THIS:

  1. Start stalking the NLs and social media influencers in your space on IG, Tiktok, X, etc. See what brands are sponsoring their content.

  2. Reach out to those brands and pitch your NL directly.

  3. A less labor intensive pitching route is to get yourself into an ad network like:
